18/06
In a war thirsty country a sculpture was commissioned by the country’s leader. It stood six feet high and was of a big black gun to represent their war successes. It was made from melted down guns that had been used in the country’s many fights.
One morning the people of the city in which the statue was situated woke up to find that the long black barrel of the gun had a knot in it. Nobody knew how anybody had performed this. The leader was infuriated by the wreck of his new monument. But everybody became attached to the knotted gun, it became the country's symbol of peace. The people of the country began to see the light, that war maybe wasn’t the answer. They put down their guns or as the people liked to say; they knotted their barrels.

Screaming filled the air. Then as suddenly as it had started the earth became still. I staggered to my feet, dizzy and overwhelmed. Huge shards of painted wood were Sprinkled over the nearby grass and floating in the river. The Bridge had collapsed and my best friend was nowhere to be seen...
